Critique for a fashion jewelry site

http://www.shavonne.com/

Our site's been around for a while but we can always use feedback.

Too much text, I want to see your products. I like the top secton with
logo and jewelry, it says who you are but after that, its hard to view your site because I dont know where to look first.

the site needs to be organized like a new customer is viewing your
products in your physical store. If they can not find something then
they will leave. People are impulsive, so its harder to keep their
attention on the web.

Hope this helps,

I agree. I would move a lot of the text off of the initial page.

I would recommend something like WestHost's site. When you first go there, it is clear that we offer three services: shared hosting, dedicated servers, and domain name registration. There is a picture and enough information to get people interested, but the details are elsewhere (when they click "More Information").

It looks like you offer several different products: rings, earrings, watches, necklaces and bracelets. Why not emphasize that on your site? I had to look at the page for a while to realize that you offered necklaces, and that is time that a casual web surfer probably won't spend.

Thanks for the input. Just so I understand, when you talk about there being too much text, are you referring to the navigation links at the top ("Cubic Zirconia Rings", "Necklaces", "Wholesale Division", etc.), or the small text blurbs in the center of the page ("Shavonne.com News & Links", "What the world thinks of Shavonne", etc.), or both?

I like the overall design of your page, but it's too long. You have to scroll to see much of the important content. I would only suggest this one major thing. Shorten your pages so that not so much scrolling to find content is required. I guarantee you'll get more out of your website with shorter pages.

Any comments on the photography (especially the ladies' fashion and sterling silver rings)? Specific examples of what's good/bad would be helpful.

In regard to your photography, I think you have done pretty well. I do notice that some are on black background and others are on white. I think that perhaps the black background shows better.

On the topic of text and navigation, perhaps you could change the top of the page to be a visual navigation of your products and move the text links to bottom of your page.
