Looks nice and clean. You may want to ditch the WYSIWYG editor and learn how to write HTML by hand. Hopefully you'll be able to make your site more efficient and standards-compliant.
You seem to have great content, which is pretty rare these days. The main thing I would suggest on your "Home" page is to make sure the reader knows there is more valuable info below the fold without scrolling (or you could put it above the fold).

hmmm, i see what you are saying about the scrolling thing... thanks. i do know html, but not CSS, tried out this visual site designer thing for this site because the carpal tunnel monster is after me and thought it would be easier.

It doesn't really show properly in Konqueror and Firefox. The borders cover the text and the text seems to have fixed line breaks so it doesn't flow correctly.
You may also want to try and get it to validate at validator.w3.org.
And you have a number of errors in the stylesheet...
