I made some changes and it seems to be working, but very slow

Folks,

I know everybody is waiting for a solution to fix your store. Here are couple of things I noticed after migration.

1. SSL settings at my store not working. ( possibly for every body)
2. All my third party modules I installed at miva store front are gone.
I was using emporium plus Paypal module instead of Miva default paypal module. And now it is miva paypal module that is there.
I installed external product purchase, auction contact on lat week end and they are gone too. ( I am guessing they are lost during transition). Ihad to reinstall everything.

So make sure all your third party modules are still there.

What I did to fix some problems..
-----------------------------------------
1. from accout/siteapplications/tools installed SSL
2. In my Miva store admin, domain settings changed ssl2 to ssl4
3. from my paypal account/preferences changed IPN settings from ssl2 to ssl4

After I made these changes at least I am not getting those error messages when you do check out and account log in. I still have to verify the full processing. But the pages are testing my patience, it takes long time to load pages. May be its because of ssl4 server. Some times it is timing out while loading the page and displaying the error message as"time out"

May be you guys will test and let me know if you also have the same timing issues.

There is also a new topic under WestHost 2.0 called Solutions that give some other pointers for Miva.

The changes are working, but the major problem is the time out.

The site is very sloww especially when you click a link for ssl4.

It is **** slow that it is timing out

I clicked on check out button, asked for my login , I entered my login id and password. Then at my profile page, after clicking Continue, it timed out and displayed the error

Westhost has not done their job in a professional way. Its been 4 days since we have this problem. They could have migrated in a more professional and organized way.

I pity westhost.

Does anyone know what the timeout/slowness is? I have not gotten a response from WestHost. There is probably not much I can do about it, but I would still like to know.

Is it an Empresa setting? Is it just a general server issue, with servine .mvc files? I can't believe it has taken this long to fix an issue having to do with stores. That should have been the first thing to get fixed.

My guess is that the slowness happens to correpsond with a server problem or server load at times. I would argue that SSL4 isn't optimized for the type of server it is. I have experienced way too many timeouts trying to use it and it does get frustrating.
