Miva order completion?

Hi guys! Does anybody know why my customers keep getting this error after they check out:

Your Email could not be sent at this time. The following error was encountered: 5.7.1 <crabmom@att.net>... Relaying denied. IP name possibly forged [69.36.165.2]

Instead of it MIVA taking them back to the store, they get this. Also, it does not email the order to me, or email the customer their invoice, either.

THAT IS NOT MY IP ADDRESS! Tech. support has been scratching their heads for a month on this, and still don't know how to fix it. My site went down after the upgrade and they got it back up and running, but I have had this error ever since.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

What is the email settings in your control panel? The smtp authentication, Relaying, ect... Let me know and I will try to help. I am not with westhost but I have fixed huge numbers of these. Here are some helpful hints.
1. make sure relaying is not turned on.
2. pop before smtp.
3. generous smtp time out.
4. smtp authentication should be on.

Here are some gotchas
1. dns reverse lookups are bad. Remember they do a nslookup on your domain name then take the results and lookup on it 2 more times with the results. If it is not perfect they are grumpy. This would be with email to yahoo or aol.

2. In your own email make sure you use the reply to feature in your email client. If you dont it can cause a relaying denied also.

I hope this helps . Feel free to ask me questions at nickb@nexpedite.com
thanks

Thanks! They finally got it fixed! I do not understand a word you said, unfortunately! (but maybe WestHost did?) so I'm glad you replied! Thanks again! - Crabmom
