Pre-sales q. about Additional Domains

Hi!

Let's assume that I buy a Starter Package and two Additional Domains ($20/one time). I wish that all my three domains show different contents. Let's name my account "A" and point domain A.net to its main directory, the first additional domain is B.com and the second C.net.

Question: If a user then looks at http://www.b.com/file.html and "File: Properties" in his/her browser, does he/she see there:

1) http://www.b.com/file.html
or
2) http://www.a.net/b/file.html ?

Thanks in advance,
Timo

I only have one additional domain name attached to my account. It is a domain name pointer - it mirrors my first domain. So, when I go to any address under my secondary domain, both the Location: and File, Properties shows the secondary domain.

As far as I know, though, if you point your secondary domain(s) to directories, they will be fowarded to your primary domain (i.e. will show option 2 as you specified above). However, there are ways to configure this (i.e. change Apache configuration, which you DO have access to) so that it does not do that. You'd probably also need access to the DNS entries for your secondary domains. I've never tried this though, so I do not know if it will work 100% or not. You may want to contact WestHost directly (phone, chat, e-mail, etc.) to get a definitive answer.

Timo,

The second domains will appear completely independent to your visitors. Option "1)" is what would appear.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for a clear answer!
So it works as I wish. I'm ready to join when my current contract expires! :)

Best regards,
Timo
