Sales Question

I submitted the following ticket #181632 to sales:

"I'm interested in moving my accounts to WestHost, but would like to know what version of myODBC connector you use for ASP to mySQL connections."

only to have it marked 'dead' by MPlatis. No response, nothing.

Why? Do you not know?

I already have one client from AdvancedMinds hosted with you, but I don't see you getting any more with that sales methodology.

Regretfully,
Patrick

Patrick,

I apologize for that. We get tons of spam in our e-mail system and I usually delete in bulk. More than likely it got caught with them.

I am speaking with a technician and getting this researched. When I get the information, I'll post it.

Patrick,

I spoke with one of our technicians and he said that we use whatever the default version that comes with ChiliSoft! ASP version 3.6.0. It might be best to check that out with them. I am also doing a little research to find what version that is.

Matt,

That's ok. I couldn't find specifics regarding ODBC drivers in ChiliSoft! ASP 3.6.0. But, because it's an older verion, I did see that it's only compatible with the older version of mySQL, 3.23, so that can't be good news. I'm currently on 4.0.16, and my current host just stepped up to bat for me, installing the much needed 3.51 myODBC driver.

Maybe next time,
Patrick

Hmm, could I have some clarification on this as well as I was informed by support that myODBC was not installed and that I would have to do it myself

I've just tried but realise that you need root access to install the thing!

Also if it's installed god knows how you set up a dsn, as there is no control panel access to chilisoft and editing the odbc.ini seems to not work

just to update this.

At the moment I am informed by westhost that they do not support dsn connections via asp - so I doubt myODBC will work.
They said it is something they are going to implement in the future though.
