Yes, we have a great deal to be thankful for in WestHost.
But SPAM to my six accounts hosted here has now become critical: at some times of the day I can literally watch it come in in realtime.
I'm not sure that SpamAssassin is working as effectively as it might.
Other ISPs I use also have a delete email identified as SPAM option.
I shall shortly be away from access to my accounts on vacation and dread coming back to surcharge fees because tens of thousands of junk items have filled my mailbox.
This is emphatically not WestHost's fault. But a move towards more aggressive /devnull filtering etc. might help.

One effective thing that I have done is to construct a large .procmail file that catches some spam above and beyond spamassassin. For things clearly spam (score of 7+, non-english characters, etc.), it's directly sent to /dev/null. Other suspect messages get forwarded to a free mailbox at Yahoo, which I check periodically to see if something got misfiled. This takes the roughly 500 spam messages I get per day down to a managable 20 or so.
My .procmailrc is large, or I'd post it here, but if you drop me a note at faigin -at cahighways.org, I can send it to you, and you can see what works for you.

If you want to provide it to users in say a .txt file I would be more then happy to host it over at my site and we could put a link for it in board there and then you could also give the link here when you wanted to supply it for someone. It would be nice to be able to see other folks .procmailrc files to follow as examples.

Well, mine is pretty long, as it contains lots of stuff to handle the newsgroups I moderate, the mailing lists I run, as well a cruft from my days at Pacificnet when I used both spamassassin and spambouncer (a good procmail-based spam filter, www.spambouncer.org, that doesn't work at WH because our virtual hosts don't have all the network lookup commands).
However, I'd be glad to send it to you, and you can edit out the cruft and make it into an example procmail.
