Suggestion: OpenWebmail

When upgrading the VDS software packages please replace NeoMail with OpenWebmail (http://openwebmail.org). It is based on NeoMail but is much nicer. To see a demo go to: http://www.postman.net/ and login with U:demo P:demodemo.

Also, MySql 4.0 would be nice.

I agree with the OpenWebMail request and I'm sure a lot others do too.

Openwebmail should most definitely replace Neomail and IMP which are way too limited and primitive - especially as programs that WestHost provides via the Site Manager!

Hello all,

We have had UebiMiau (http://www.uebimiau.org/) suggested as another possible replacement solution. If anyone has some feedback on these programs, please let us know as we would like to use the program that will work the best for our clients.

I followed the advice of some of the others on this board and installed IlohaMail (ilohamail.org (http://ilohamail.org/)). I like the features a lot, and it's quick too..

Greetings.. I have a question about ilohamail..

I was curious where it stores or how it handles the email. I'm a layman when it comes to this so I apologize if I sound like too much of a newb. But, basically, will it store copies of the messages on my server, will it pull emails OFF my pop server, etc.

I'm trying to avoid cluttering up the server with too much litter so I figured I'd ask. :)

Thanks in advance.

From what I understand it doesn't store e-mail bodies; IlohaMail pulls them as you need them.

However there appears to be a cache option if you are interested in doing that:
