phpBB problems

whenever i go to my link, it says:

phpBB : Critical Error

Could not connect to the database

whats up with that?

Have you adjusted the msyql database username and password? The new system by default the username is root and password (I assume to be...) the same as your site password.

Avery

i havent done anything with the site. today my site was updated to 2.0 and now i cannot access my message board (phpBB).

after accessing msyql what should i do?

jon

When sites were moved from 1.0 to 2.0 I noticed that instead of yourdomain as the username for the database, the new database has a username root. (With a different password)

There are two ways to solve the problem. Edit the phpBB setup to use root and the newpassword as the login/password information - or add a user to the database matching the old information (mysql user and password) The easy route to adding the new user is to login to the site manager and install phpmyadmin (should be under site applications/database), then work from there to add another user to your database. (If you set the username and password to what you had before that should get you there, although I haven't worked with phpBB setup...)

Avery

The easy route to adding the new user is to login to the site manager and install phpgroupware (should be under site applications/database)

Did you mean phpMyAdmin?

 Sorry.... it's been a LOOONG day....

To change the info in phpbb.

1. ssh or telnet into your account
2. find config.php, it should be under your phpbb directory
3. edit config.php, it should have all the info to access the database, just change the info
4. save it.
5. done

Now phpbb should be able to access the database.

MySQL is giving me this error:

Error

MySQL said:

Access denied for user: 'fmp666@localhost' (Using password: YES)
