DOOM 3?

Has anyone tried the new DOOM 3 game yet? I know it was just released, but there was so much hype about this game, I wonder if anyone has tried it yet and if it's any good. Those of you that have it, let the rest of us know if it's worth it or not.

Nope, but I hear it's awesome.

I'm still looking forward to Half Life 2 :)

...and yes, I know it is like waiting for the great pumpkin.

I thought with as much hype as this game is getting, there would be reviews all over the place as soon as it came out. Maybe that's a bad sign that it's not getting them, or maybe no one is writing them because they are too busy playing the game :)

Ok, I finally have played it. My computer is not quite enough to power it (actually, it's just my video card, I have a P4 2Ghz with over 700MB of ram, but the video card is just a basic one, nothing special, not even sure what kind it is). I could see how it would be fun if I had a better video card, but I don't think it's worth the upgrade. I have an Xbox, I think I will just wait for it to be released on that instead of upgrading my computer. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it wasn't good, I'm looking forward to it's xbox release now, but I personally don't feel like upgrading my computer for just 1 game (it runs everything else with no problems).

My friend rushed out and bought it as soon as he could. His response was interesting. He said that the graphics and scare factor were awesome, but after playing it for a while, the gameplay got old and repetitive really fast. He recommended that I not get it, that it wasn't worth the price.
