Web form problem

Please help.

I created pages in Microsoft Publisher including a response form. The submit button is supposed to result in the form being posted to me. I attached my email address to the 'submit' button as requested and created the webpage. The site uploaded easily, but trying the form it results only in an error message 'URL not found on this server -WEBBOT-SELF'.

I went back into Publisher where under 'Command Button Properties' it says 'confirm your ISP supports FrontPage98 server extensions (ver 3.0 or higher)

The page source includes the following code

<form action="--WEBBOT-SELF--" method="post">
<!--webbot bot="SaveResults" s-email-address="paul@hawthorncottageindustry.fsnet.co.uk"
s-email-format="TEXT/PRE" b-email-label-fields="TRUE"
s-email-Subject="Web Site Form Response" s-builtin-fields="Date Time"
b-email-subject-from-field="FALSE"-->

This explains the 'webbot-self' but means very little else to me.

My site manager has FrontPage2002 extensions installed.

What have I done wrong?

Can anyone help me sort this out.

Thanks

Paul

I am not a FrontPage fan or user but from the info you just gave me I almost wonder if the problem is that you are useing FrontPage98. It is possible that the extensions have changed quite a bit since then and if WH uses the 2002 extensions your page may be looking for something that is no longer available. I tried a quick check of the Microsoft site but all the info there is for the newer versions of FrontPage. Does your FrontPage have a link to a help page in it? Could be that link might lead to a help page that is now baried in thier site.

UPDATE: Found a site that may help you - http://frontpageforms.com/

Thanks wildjokerdesign. The link looks interesting. It might take a while to look through, but I am sure the answer is in there somewhere. The added complication is that I am using Microsoft Publisher, which requires a FrontPage extension. Publisher is part of Office 2000, so maybe I have to look there for a clue to what it is doing. Burrowing into Publisher it seems to me that the command button is pointing to a file on my hard drive and not to my email. I think I'll take down the page until I get the problem sorted.

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it.

You might try the search term "WEBBOT-SELF" on Google or another SE. That is what I used when I was trying to find answers and there where some post I found on different forums that may help you out. I didn't post them simply because I thought the above link would give you the most bang for your buck. :)
