Looking for good dedicated server host in NYC datacenter

Greetings,

I'm in need of finding a good company that provides dedicated servers (Dual 2.4 Xeon or better/2 GB Ram) with at the very least 2Mbps unmetered bandwidth.

Preferably a company that will provide both RH9/Ent and Win2003 servers, and be in a decent NYC Data center.

Anyone know of such a beast?

Thanks in advance.

I'd also like to add that the server(s) should be unmanaged, aside from DNS and such. OS maintenance will be taken care of on my end.

Try www.rbwtech.com they can customize any server you want to lease.

Opps... they are in Seattle area.. sorry

Well, East Coast is the REAL requirement. NYC or VA would be optimal.

Just as another aside, usage will be for Game server hosting.

www.crnc.net is in NYC and could service you.

Im sure EZZI could help you.

EZZI didn't have the machines that I would need and crnc.net was close but I did already find a provider that more than met my needs for about $100 less than crnc, and more a little better of a machine than we currently had, not to mention recommended by someone in the bandwidth business :)

Thanks for your responses.

I have a server in NYC through www.1and1.com for $50/month w/$99 setup.

I'm not sure what you mean by unmetered? Does this mean unlimited bandwidth usage? Their server for $50 has 500GB of data/month, maybe that is enough for you.

I'm quite happy with mine, I only wish it was on the west coast but I haven't been able to find something for that cheap with all their features around here.

Anyways, good luck!

He/She means that the transfer of data is not limited by the total amount of data transferred but the amount of data that can be transferred per second (100MegaBits per second). Unlimited is not possible and is a different thing which states that you CAN transfer 600TB in one month on a 100MBPS server which obviosouly is not possible, therefore there is a limit. My calculation my be wrong but with unlimited transfer at dedicated 100MBPS port (gettting full 100MBPS ...usually doesnt happen) you can only tranfer:
31.3489894 Terabytes/Month
---------------------------------------------------------
one month = 2629743.83 seconds
2629743.83(seconds)X100(Mbits)=262974383Mbits/Month
262974383 megabits = 32101.3651 gigabytes
32 101.3651 gigabytes = 31.3489894 terabytes (TB)
(I could be wrong, please tell me if I am)
---------------------------------------------------------

So you can see the difference? If not i can explain further (my calculation can be wrong but it sounds about right!).
Unmetred does not equal to unlimited, also keep in mind that 100MBPS dedicated will cost you around $3800 (not sure but i think.)

It appears these servers are in Texas, he asked for NY.

You're lucky you didn't go with Ezzi, i've used them for gaming and they had a really bad network stutter while in game, it'd freeze for a moment, and then resume gameplay.

I don't reccomend them for gaming.

Thanks,
Andrew
