We have an ongoing client that sells asian art and med-high end gifts that has an exclusive new-age-ish product for which we are doing an introductory campaign. This product, in our estimation, can only be sold with a picture of it and because of its shape, it must be a "skyscraper" banner to drive traffic to the web site (see www.umanobeads.com). Text ads are a total loser, unless in support of the banner ad. Google's program seems to resist defining our demographics and, of course, the chances of getting a human on the phone are nil. I've been searching "banner affiliiates" until my eyeballs are falling out to no avail. I'm tempted to place the ads myself where our market exists, basically in the Home and Garden on-line sections of on-line major newspapers, Better Home & Garden, etc, but this would be very difficult to monitor and time consuming. There is decent money for a start-up campaign ($250/day or so) if I can find where to go with it. Any ideas?
