Admin panel not secure?

Why does the osCommerce install not include a password protected admin panel? Am I just missing the setting somewhere?

What's the easiest way to go about protecting the admin panel, do I just install WebPassword and then password protect the OSComm admin folder?

I have not used osCommerce in a long time but I belive that in order to do anything in the admin section you have to be logged in as the admin, do you not?

You do have to log in with the osCommerce admin panel to be able to make changes to your osCommerce. The typical link is:

http://domain.com/catalog/admin

MNslappy,

Authentication for osCommerce is set up using Apache authorization. We found that there were some accounts on our system that did not have that put on place correctly through the install in the Site Manager, so we have put a fix in place for that. Your osCommerce admin should be secure now.
