WestHost Domain Name Management

I recently moved to WestHost as my domain registrar. I noticed that their control panel, etc. seems to be a rebranded enom.com one (I'm not complaining or anything). In my control panel, I basically have no options as they all say:

Not using our nameservers

Checking the Nameservers, I see that they are WestHost's. There is an option to use the default. What I would like to know is what the difference is between these two. I'd like to enable the options that are currently disabled because of the Nameservers, but I want to know what (if anything) will be affected if I make that change. For example, would I still be able to use the E-mail Forwarding in the Site Manager (WestHost 2.0, of course) and subdomains in that, etc.

Thanks!

For those that are interested in the answer:

You will be fine using whatever registrar/name servers that you wish. *BUT* if you use your own, non-WestHost nameservers, then changes you make in domain management will "work", but won't actually do anything because the REAL nameservers are elsewhere.
