Customizing Reseller Manager

Has anyone managed to customize the Alerts in the Reseller Manager?

Reseller Manager/Customization/Alerts Branding

I can call up the text but there seems to be no way of changing the text, which means my clients get emails telling them to contact Westhost as they are, for instance, over bandwidth or something. They don't know who Westhost are or why they are contacting them about this.

Anyone had any luck? Whats the secret?

:(

I looked at the "help" file on it and it states
The Alert Details shows the information about the alert that you clicked on, and, if you created the alert, allows you to continue on to edit it by clicking the "Edit" button, otherwise click "Back".

I wonder if all the alerts are owned by WestHost that are there thus in order to get control you would have to delet them all (or at least the ones sent to "Owned account with issue" and create your own.

Would be nice if there was a way the WH could release the defaults to us instead of haveing to make all new ones. It is kind of like the default service packages. They seem to be owened by WH so we can not alter them. You have to create your own. It would almost be better if they where not there if you did not have control over them although I guess they do give you a guide line to go by.

OK, I seem to have sussed it. It seems the alerts can't be edited but you can create new alerts, which is what you need to do.

You're right tho Shawn, its a hassle having WH own the defaults. Its also very difficult to transfer an account from one of the WH owned ones to one of our own.
Well, not difficult, but you need to destroy the old account and set up a new one, during which time the site is effectively dead.
cheers

Yes I had to do that with one of my accounts in order to get contorl over it. It was just my testing account so was not to big a deal.

Have you done any modifiying of the look of your customer site managers? I have left that area alone since the thought of going through and altering what looks like around 110 items via the interface seemed a bit daunting. I was thinking the other day that it would be nice to have a copy of all those images and files on my local computer to modifiy and work with. Even the thought of haveing to download each file via the Manager one at the time is too much for me. I keep thinking that those files should be someplace I could get to them via FTP but have not figured out where or how. Any ideas or comments on this? I guess maybe they are on a server that I don't have access to via FTP.
