I hire a dedicated server (virtualtransat.virtualtransat.com) that hosts only one domain (virtualtransat.com).
When I ping virtualtransat.com, it works fine.
When I ping virtualtransat.virtualtransat.com, it returns "host unknown".
So I figure out that the dedicated server has no DNS setup (I can reach it using its ip address only).
This problem leads to a sendmail problem, at least I suppose so. When I send an email from virtualtransat.com (by the mean of PHP) it does return the email wit an error message : "reason: 553 <virtualtransat@virtualtransat.virtualtransat.co m>: Sender address rejected: Domain not f
ound"
What shall I do to have this fixed ?
Thanks so much if you can help.
Best regards
Herve
hcl,
One of our technicians has responded to your ticket. It looks like it was a DNS error.
Sure it is ! virtualtransat.virtualtransat.com seems to have no name server pointing on it.
So now, what to do to fix that ?
Is it my reponsability or westhost's to configure such things ?
I really need a fast and efficient fix : meanwhile I can't have the mail facility ...
So I can't work and my customers are not so happy with it.
Thanks for any help that you will give me.
Best regards
Herve
Great !
virtualtransat.virtualtransat.com answers to the ping and sendmail now works.
