Who else is waiting for this CherryOs Mac emulator?
In case you're not aware, last month a company called CherryOS claimed they come up with a software that allows you to emulate a Mac almost entirely on a PC. A lot of people have claimed it's BS and even based on stolen code (see Wired article here: http://www.wired.com/news/mac/0,2125,65368,00.html?tw=wn_tophead_2). However, if the product is real, it'd certainly be great news for web developers like us that want to test out DHTML scripts in Mac but don't want to buy a Mac.
FYI Cherryos has announced that a free trial version will be available on Nov 25- http://www.cherryos.com. Lets see how this story ends.
Slashdot have articles on this, It's the next big release for the internet community. Someone who got a trial version of the software ran OSX in Windows, which was in turn running Windows inside OSX in another emulator. It reported a CPU of 0mhz :)

erm.. could some one please explain what this is????
Ok, here we go;
PearPC runs the Mac Operating System on a normal PC (slowly)
CherryOS claims to run the Mac Operating System on a normal pc incredibly quickly.
The author is a well known GPL theif, but still he persists that he wrote all the code himself in 4 months. If you've ever used PearPC, it's obvious that he has taken the code and replaced the logo's/copyright notices.
PearPC is free; CherryOS will be $50.
Basically, PearPC hate CherryOS's developer for stealing code, CherryOS are trying to imply that they're the best of friends and haven't used their code.
Also, CherryOS claims 80% original speed. Utter rubbish. Anyone with logic, it was pointed out, could figure this:
CherryOS recieves instruction from user
CherryOS has to translate to PowerPC RISC Instruction
CherryOS sends RISC instruction to processor
CherryOS is ready for another command.
Whereas on a normal Mac, the command is recieved, processed and ready.
So the best they can realistically do is 50%, but that's pushing it.

so.. what ur saying is that its for apple macontosh computers right??
but i have a windows computer (operating system) does that make a difference if i used CherryOS?? and can i use it on my pc?
CherryOS is for the PC. It emulates a Mac on a PC, so you can run Mac programs like OSX, Safari etc on your PC.
ok.. yea i get it know:) thanks
Or that's what they want you to believe...
:conspiracy!:

ohh.. so really they never made the program at all??
They have (we think), but it's probably stolen code from the PearPC team.
cr3ative
:( well why arn't they getting in trubble with the copyright stuff....
Cause its illegel steal some one elsesprograms.
:S
Bingo.
Although PearPC is OpenSource (which means you can take it, and distribute it with changes), you can NOT sell it.
So If I took PearPC, modified it and put it on the intarweb again for free with a GNU/GPL agreement (opensource), that would be fine.
If I labelled it cr3ativesoft grapePC and sold it for £399, that'd be illegal.

oohhh.. i see:)
but.. they are stupid not to copyright it.. ?
cause they should have known better..
Nobody copyrighted Linux...
Speaking of which, I'm in Linux Knoppix right now. Rawr.
