Mircrosoft Outlook, getting mail from the files.

I have a problem.
My old drive has my old Microsoft Outlook mail on it and I can't open the program to get the mail out because of it being on the other drive and the new computer doesn't let me load the os because of a file missing, or something.

Is there a file that is holding my messages that I can swap with my new outlook files, and just cut the old message out and save them as *.msg files?

Would anyone know?

Do you know what I mean?
Should I re-explain myself?

If your using a Outlook Express there is a way I know of. Under your profile directory in windows then

Local Settings > Application Data > Identities > [Some weird number] > then there should be .dbx files.

These are compressed data files with all your emails in them. Like inbox.dbx has all the emails that were in your inbox.

Just find where the inbox.dbx is on your new computer and you can copy it over.

If you want to temporaily access them, just rename the inbox.dbx to something like inbox.dbx-bak and copy the old one in temporarily.

I hope that makes sense!

Makes great sence.

But I use Microsoft Outlook. Not express, BUT!

D:\Documents and Settings\Alex Robson\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

There is a file called outlook.pst, it might be the same thing.

I hope the files are compressed in here.
Since it's only 816kb

I'll try this file and get back to you.

Works... Thank you!

My contacts and folders are still there too!

No problem.
