Computer Question....my laptop doesnt have a volume control :(

Hey I just got my new laptop, and when I go into control panel and try to get the volume icon (equilizer) to be in my icon menu on the start menu it tells me the volume control feature wasnt installed and I need the disc, but the system discs sony gave me with my lappy are wortheless. Anyone know where I might find the volume control?

You need your windows cd. Then run add/remove progs from the control panel. Go into windows components and under entertainment select it.

(This is from memory, but I think it's right)

PS:

Please ask in the appropriate forum next time

Moving thread to the Computer/PC issues forum. Good luck ;).

start => ... => accessories => entertainment => volume control. :)

If you still can't find the equalizer, or install it, you could alway use the manual control on the Vaios. Just hold "Fn" and then hit the speaker icon on your keyboard.

I know what you mean. You can carry around a set of headphones and have those plugged in when you boot. This will prevent the sound coming from the speakers.

If you don't care about having a set of headphones to drag around, just find the absolute cheapest pair or from Radio shack and just purchase the little 3.5mm jack to plug in. This will act the same and fool your laptop.
