Visual Basic 5 CCE problem

I know this is daft, and I apologise for having to post this.

I'm not a VB5 developer, but sat down this morning to write a small program to take a text file and manipulate the text into javascript arrays and create a new file as a javascript .js file.

Everything went relatively smoothly, until I realised that I was using Visual Basic CCE - the control creation addition that won't compile the code into an executable file.

I was wondering if anyone knew of a way to compile the code and dumpt it out as an exe without having to buy the complete Visual Basic developers kit. I really only need something to compile the current project files.

My main trouble is that I can't justify buying the entire development kit at £88.12 (or more) simply for this one program.

If there isn't a compiler available, I was wondering if there was a freeware development environment that could accept the Visual Basic project files, transform them into a format that was useable by that piece of kit and then go from there.

I know this is rather daft, and I'm loathe to have to post up about it.

Many thanks

my only suggestion would be to e-mail me the source at [email protected] and i could compile it using VB6...Not sure if it would work but if you made the code to work with VB6 i could compile it for you and send you the exe
