Disable reply on thread if last reply is older than X

With this plugin you can disable the ability to reply on a thread that already has some dust on top.

For example, if you set this plugin to 14 days, than 14 days after the last reply it would be impossible to add a new reply to the thread.

There is one exception! You can specify usergroups that aren't restricted by this plugin.

Installation

- Go to the 'Phrase Manager' in your ACP and create a new phrase.

Type: Error Messages
Varname: thread_replytime_expired
Text: Sorry, this thread has expired, you cannot reply to this thread anymore.

- Download the plugin and upload it into your ACP.
- Go to the 'Plugin Manager' in your ACP and edit this plugin
- Directly in top of the code you wil find a couple of settings you can do.

It's a very small and simple plugin, but I found it usefull enough to share it with you :)

Thank you for sharing this Frenck.

Could you please upload it as a zip-file as requested here: Hacks should be released in ONE ZIP file please (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=83252)

Ow ok, sorry for that.

Done :)

Thanks for re-uploading.

nice work
/me installs

What a nice hack :)

man, i want this for 3.07

so, in effect, it is like closing the thread after 14 days... right?

That is correct

Can this be made that instead of not replying, a user sees a warning, but still can reply?

This would be a good idea.

Nice! Thanks for releasing this! :D *clicks install*

I would love to see this hack merged with the thread "fork" hack. If a thread is a certain age have the reply button open a *new* "fork" thread.

Just an idea ;)

*Shameless Ad* ;)
Prevent bumping old Threads (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=96850)

Could I request that you make it so that the quickreply box won`t show up when it has expired? If a member should write up a good deal there, and then finds out it was a waste of time, he/she would complain. I can figure it out probably, but I thought all others should have this change too.....?

Thanks Frenck

Could it be excellent if I can restrict specific forum too.
is it possible?

How would i set this to only certain forums ?

Are mods allowed to post?
