Extract Old Custom Avatars Hack

If you had Freddie's original avatar hack installed on your 1.1.x board, you probably have a bunch of users with custom avatars stored in the custom_avatars table. This script will let you extract the pictures.

Put custompic.php in your Admin directory, then load it into your browser. You should see a table of user names and file names. You can click on the file name to load the picture into your browser. The browser's title bar will tell you the file type (GIF, JPEG, whatever); you can save the picture from there.

sweet nice hack but i dont need it.

there's already one hack for this which i use at http://vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=16999&highlight=custom+avatar

I guess if I had done a search, I could have modified that one to work, but this hack is for extracting the avatars from Freddie's (then Rangersfan's) 1.1.3 Avatar Hack v2.0 (I think that is the right version number; he deleted the thread, I think).

When I moved to 2.0.3, I needed a way to extract the custom avatars in the custom_avatar table on my 1.1.3 board. The hack that you reference is for viewing the avatars in the 2.0.3 table customavatar.

Thanks for the tip, though.

Thanks for the tip, though. then for 2.0.3 you need Kier's hack http://vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11760

or the revised kier hack from ztsky http://vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=22115&highlight=custom+avatar

I read through as much of that thread as I could manage (the page count just kept increasing... :)), and, while Freddie did post a note about modifying his custom_avatar table to work with Kier's Avatars-as-Files hack, this is not what my hack does.

My hack lists the custom avatars from Freddie's hack for 1.1.3 so that you can save individual ones for your users to use with 2.0.x. Since the 2.0.x upgrade leaves Freddie's custom_avatar table alone, you can do this at any time after the upgrade (such as when one of your users notices that his/her avatar has disappeared and cannot remember from whence it came in the first place).

I realize that a really nice Admin might port over his/her users' avatars for them, but that does not describe me. ;)
