Alternating Rows for PMs and Threads

This is my first hack. I'll make this brief since the hack should take less than five minutes to install

I was looking for a way to convert the alternating columns on my forum to be alternating rows instead. I search up and down both vbulletin.com and .org, and only found a few ancient hacks that no longer applied. FastForward's idea seemed easy enough, but implementation was outdated. The text file at the bottom maps out the installation instructions.

I hope this works for all of you...Good Luck!

PS: Thanks again to FastForward for making my life easier with this code...and to all the great hackers of VBulletin that show us all why pooling our resources together makes one formidable product!

I didn't forget :D

Here is a screenshot of what my board looked like pre-hack:

Post Hack Look:

Does this work with Roll Over effects?

Nice and something different, but I'll stay with the current style. ;)

I used it.. but heh you get bored..
and yeah I had mine tricked out to mouseover cells.

Nice idea I guess, but I'll stick with the current style ^^

Cool little hack, might well install this one - I love the cosmetic changes! :D

Its safe to assume that this would work with rollovers, as the only thing you are replacing in your templatebits is the { firstaltcolor } call with $rowcolor

I'll drop rollover effects onto my sight today, and see what comes of it

Please add the hacks in a .txt file so those warez kids can't copy/paste - thank you.

I didnt notice anything at first, but now I see the difference:)

Good hack! I wont install it though(My board's colours are the same >.<)

My board would look really sucky with alternating colors methinks, but this can be a very useful hack for other boards. Teh sweetness. :P

interesting but you cannot have (with this hack) one style with alternative columns and one with alternative row so i will not use this hack

Per Xiph's request, I have encased this hack in a text file :)

Does anybody have this for the forumhome index.php for 2.3.0 ?
