[Fixed] phpMyChat Integration

Moved to beta releases:

http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?p=455432#post455432

any demo's?

Not having any luck with it. It states: "You must choose a nick to chat" I got phpMyChat off sourceforge, do I need to get the exact copy you have?

EDIT: They're actually the same :(

EDIT 2: Looking at the file you said to edit, I don't see any ref to bbuserid or such, or even to global.php?

I have the same problem.

And me..... It's probably something stupid that I'm missing - as usual ;)
Nice hack though, been waiting for this for a while :) Now if I could only get it to work ;)

Hopefully he will reply with a fix lol. I'm gonna leave it on my forum as it is for now. I'm not gonna re-install...

Would be nice if people tested hacks before releasing them.

Sorry, lib/index.lib.php3 was a phpmychat file. Was that the problem? I tested it, and it worked fine.

And the part with the individual edits...those were vBulletin templates :nervous:

And the part with the individual edits...those were vBulletin templates :nervous:the lib/index.php3 you included in the zip file doesn't work. Several of us have followed the instructions to the letter and it just doesn't work. Attach a copy of the lib/index.php3 you use.

Ok......I realized what was wrong. I have updated the zip, Please download it again. I also included how to allow guests to chat.

Sorry for it not working earlier, and Enjoy! :)

Still doesn't work if a user has any spaces in their username, and also it's easily bypassed by just viewing the source and realising that you can add any username on to the ?username= variable in the URL, and come to think of it, wouldn't that also require that register globals is set to on?

Yes, the user could easily change their name by bypassing the username=variable. But, that is why right clicking is disabled on the index.php page. This is just meant to be a simple chat integration. If you are really worried about your members changing their names, then don't use this hack.

Actually, I agree with you. I don't think this hack is ready to be a full release. It has been moved to beta releases. If anyone wants to delete this thread, please do.

There should be some way to properly control the username since (for example) the shoutbox on my homepage uses vB names and the users can't change them.

I will look into doing something. I might end up just writing my own chat app to use with it :)

phpmychat came with my server. I installed it after i installed vb3 and it is already integrated. I didn't register with it,nor did any of my moderators (I have 9) and we all used our site ids and passwords to login. It worked fine.

phpMyChat 0.14.5 is the version that was installed.

I also have access to all the files,so i suppose i could skin it as well. I already changed a few minor things.
