I am really new to vBulletin and a virtual beginner when it comes to templates so please bear with my newbie questions.

1. I am wanting to use the CMPS (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=65797) for my index page so as to show the navigation bar, login/logout and a search. But i also want to show some custom content on that page. Is that a fairly straight forward process?

2. Is the CMPS something that will need to have modifications done when vB is upgraded?
