Space bar sends messages

I installed the system last night and the users on the site love it. Unfortunately, I am having a couple problems.

One is that every once in awhile it gets stuck in a mode for certain users where when they hit the space bar, the system sees it as a return and sends their message. We end up with a stream of one word messages. They are working around it by using underscores instead of spaces but still very annoying.

ANother problem is that occasionally someone sends a message and it doesn't get posted. I has happened to me a couple times. I think it happens less when you click on 'post' instead of hitting return.

I can live with the second issue, but the first issue is kind of bad. I will definitely register this if I can get help with the first issue.

NO. The point is: The problem is not with the "space bar". You just think it is. The actual problem you are describing has been diagnosed and found a fix for in that thread... read further...

There isn't really a fix, just a work around. If it wasn't for this IE problem (of which about 99% of my users use) they would just love this chat room. I have posted the work around at the top of my chat room but most don't get it. We've had to leave our new chat room and our old one open for the time being as many refuse to use the new one.

Ask Microsoft to fix their bug in IE! There is no other way.

We all know that isn't going to happen and since 90%+ of my users use IE this chat room will be of no use until the problem is fixed on this side.
