Please Read - I Pay Money!

i have a website well a couple and i am feed up of having to edit then then upload them to ftp could sum1 made it so i login to an adminarea and add pages and edit page insert images and cool javascript things how much to do it on one site?

Custom CMS - couple of a grand, give or take, depending on the exact specifications...

I have several File Manager scripts written in PERL if your host has the support and you have the permissions to run the scripts. I will probably just let you have them but I will not offer any support or help you install the scripts nor will I be responsible for the security of your site and/or server.

Please do not respond if you do not have a working knowledge of PERL and understand the inherent dangers....

.....Willy

i have knowledge would u send me em

i have knowledge would u send me em

Who's a u and what's an em?

And back the horse up a bit. Before I would just give you anything you would need to demonstrate to me that you do in fact have a working knowledge of PERL and understand the security threats running such scripts present. And that your host in fact has the modules....

Besides, your last response makes me regret ever responding. If you can not take the time to properly construct a sentence, why should I go out of my way to help you with something that probably will cost you 1-2K.......

Good Luck....

Hello
We can do it in around 2000 USD depending upon the requirements .Please check our portfolio at www.xponse.com .Please send me details for a exact quote.
cheers

2000 USD is crazy, it really is.
There are people willing to do it for free. Like me, i'm working on my CMS system, and i will not charge anything, to anyone.
If you're not bothered to pay a simple charge of $10,00 you should try to get PHP-Nuke www.php-nuke.org .

Was that ten dollars? Watch those periods/commas:).

I can understand doing it for free for a portfolio piece, or customer referrals for the future, but I don't see why you would otherwise... or promote that for the matter. There are many people here that try to make a living off of web design/coding, and though I agree that you shouldn't spike up prices -- going around offering free services is not always beneficial. For the client, the creator, and you.

Sure, go ahead and use a free service, and let MPCODER do it for free. How long will you be there for your client after you set him up? How quick will you do it? Can you provide links of other CMS systems you've done? Offer professional references? What if the system fails, or doesn't work properly, how does the client hold you liable for this? Will you both set up a contract and service agreement for free?

This isn't my area of expertise, so believe me, I'm not saying this because I want the job. But I want you to think what you're getting -- it's true, you get what you pay for. Some things are ok for free -- we offer free help, free graphics sometimes, and free code sometimes -- but always with the intention to learn and to have the user learn those skills, or to enhance ours.

But if you want to do it for free, that's great! I have a few other clients that would be interested -- contracts, liability terms, schedules and all:) You could even start a free company, and let the other skilled designers that are charging to improve their financial and career status out of business!

simple and plain, I can build you an administration panel to work with

Going a little off topic, but I have to agree. I'll only do free work for non-profit organisations, that i feel an empathy with, who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford the work I do, or for friends who I owe favours to. The web is full of orphaned, useless, messy sites left behind by the 'hey, my friends brother's cousin could do that, for nothing' attitude.

i sometimes marvel at the prices charged for CMS i see sometimes, these days i reckon i could throw together a quick and dirty non-validating CMS in about a day or two max.

Throw in some error handling and mass of config options and it becomes a one week job. I've even got some nice text->html scripts sitting about.

Bearing in mind with the amount of stuff i seem to volunterr for, i get about 2-3 hours actual coding time per day (10 hour session, most of it catching up on forums )

You could just let me host your websites for $5.99 U.S. each per month. All accounts come with a cpanel with a file manager. It can handle all the file management requirements you stated.

I provide free basic support including forms, database, and script support.

I designed a small perl stats manager that simplifies recent visitor tracking.

I am currently working on a members only area, that will host a whole mess of web page applications and features. I specialize in working one on one with clients.

No offense but who in their right mind would bother hosting a site, particularly a commercial site, at a resellers resellers hosting company....

http://hostdime.com/ -->
http://dizinc.com -->
http://funtimehosting.com

Way too many middle men to worry about any of them failing to pay their bills and find the site taken down....

.....Willy

No offense, but dizinc is my dns, because i chose to use hostdime's dns instead of my own. Dizinc isn't a different company. Dizinc is hostdime. I won't be disclosing to you why I do this. Unlike many company's, hostdime has their own datacenters.

The question is why would anyone host when they could be a reseller?
And the answer is:
1. The client is not interested or doesn't have the time to figure everything out themselves.
2. I provide free basic support, including scripts, forms, and databases. I don't do major programming for free, but I have been known to make small scripts for my clients.
3. Unlike many hosting companies that I have dealt with in the past, I actually spend time one-on-one with my clients, and my clients recommend me to their friends.
4. I have features others don't offer, and I will be adding much more soon.
5. Clients have more fun with Funtime Hosting (http://funtimehosting.com).

Hope that answers your questions. Have a nice day :)
