Anyone worked with Winamp 3 yet?

Winamp 3 came out of beta the 8th, and resparked a previous interest I had before.

Basically, Winamp 3 uses XML and a scripting language they call Maki to define the interface and do stuff.

I've looked at the Maki specs at "NSDN" :D (http://www.winamp.com/nsdn/), and you can get a simple feel for the language, the documentation on host objects and even some language features are sparse at best. And I've looked at the very few code examples at their "fault", but that is certainly not enough to get started.

I'm curious if anyone here and done any serious work with this, or has at least tried? :)

if you download the skin "witchblade" it has a wierd example of what the new stuff can do and to be quite honest im not impressed at all by the new winamp. their 2.x skins compatability is limited to the equalizer and player: the playlist is all grey. i dont think winamp3 is going to need all that much attention

I think the Wasabi platform is a neat idea, and while Winamp 3 is in its infancy, because of it's APIs, I think some mind-blowing stuff will be produced for it which the 2.X series could only dream of, and I'd like to be one of those developers... given a little more documentation. :D

I see some paralells to the Moz project here too - they use the BugZilla system, and also have a lack of documentation. :D
(though there is an excellent effort at Mozilla to fix that, and Nullsoft will need to get their acts in gear.)
