Remember that copyright notice

A general note that struck me when I was coding a popup window template: remember to add this to the bottom of any vB-powered page that doesn't have $footer in the template:

vBulletin; Copyright © 2000 - 2003 Jelsoft Enterprises Limited

:)

Technically, wouldn't redirects need this, since they are vB powered and don't have $footer in them? ;)

Probably ;)

Well they don't come with the copyright notice on them so I'm assuming they are fine. If VB wanted the copyright info on them I'm sure they would have included it that way in the release..

that was a joke 006.
A redirect is no real site, as you won't stay on this site normally, it always leads to another page.
But the end page of the redirect must have the copyright if the redirect itself used vb.org files/functions

Not according to the vBulletin staff. I asked them a little while ago if pages would require their copyright if they pulled info from the vBulletin database and used vBulletin functions, but were not actually part of vBulletin, and they said they would not require the vBulletin copyright message.

@Tigga: but just if you don't use the db_mysql.php file of vb to get the infos out of the db :)

?

If vbulletin didn't write the script....copywrite would be out of the question. Just because it is being used with vbulletin doesn't mean they have copywrite to someone elses work

The copyright notice is not marking the page as copyrighted by vBulletin; it's marking vBulletin as such.

so ur saying vbhacks have to be copyrighted vbulletin? even though it wasnt vbulletin that made them?

what about the javascript PM popup box? That need a copyright? ;)
Is there an official notice about anything "popping up"? I personally think it may be ok?
