each time i remove my own products the template stays and is not removed
Are the templates being installed by a product XML file?
If yes, did you edit them after they were installed? From what I recall, vB won't delete a customized (edited) template. I could be wrong about that though.

2) its not edited after, and is highlighted red after product removal

as i said i have not edited it, after i remove my own product.xml the template still exists and turns red after the product is removed
i have no template cache in place and need one
Template should be removed when product is uninstalled.
Is the product field set correctly for the template?
