Animated gif help

Hi,

This is a very easy question, and I've seen the answer somewhere but cant find it again!
How do i make a gif animation play a certain number of times instead of indefinately?

How do i make a gif animation play a certain number of times instead of indefinately?That would depend entirely on your software. It should be a property of the animation, but how you access those properties will of course vary from program to program.

Well it's going on my website, so i'm guessing it would be IE6... i'm pretty sure I've seen it done in html somewhere, i just cant remember where.

It's just a gif i downloaded from the net. Are there any free/trial programs you could suggest?

gifs with flash? what about flash 5? how?

Well, I use Flash MX '04 Pro, but I'm sure it's the same

Just make your movie as normal, then File > Export and change the type to .gif

Thanks for the offer, but it's not really needed now as it was decided not to use the image at all, so I have removed it from the site.

i am probably being redundant, but since i dont want to read through all the posts, i will say what I know.

I use animation shop which comes with paint shop pro, and that is just 1 of the options. it should be built into your programm

Yes, a simple way to get to edit and create animated gifs is via

Paint Shop Pro 7 (includes Animation Shop).

Also you can use some screen video capture programs that will export animated gifs and avi files.

I bought Corel Paintshop Pro photo x 2 on the pretence that it had animator shop however I can't see a menu for it or a program.

If your version of Paintshop has animation shop bundled with it, you should be able to find it from Paintshop's file menu:

File > Jasc Software Products > Launch Animation Shop

But, even if you don't have that option, try using the help and search on animation. Or consult your manual, or call support.

However, we were talking about PS v 7. You may need to get Animation Shop 3 separately:

There are many other freeware and other softwares available for gif animation work.
