hello All,
This is the first time I've posted on this forum, and I would consider myself a novice HTML programer!!!

I have recently designed and built my website around the excellent HV Menu 9.5 DHTML program. I have had several e-mails letting me know that the webpage containing the menu doesn't work when viewed in Opera 7 or Mozilla. Is this because they are Mac browsing tools, or have I been a dunse???

My website URL is www.EDchinchillas.co.uk (http://www.EDchinchillas.co.uk) ...

Any suggestions???

Rich

Firstly and importantly, put the Dynamic Drive copyright notice back.

//HV Menu v5.411- by Ger Versluis (http://www.burmees.nl/)
//Submitted to Dynamic Drive (http://www.dynamicdrive.com)
//Visit http://www.dynamicdrive.com for this script and more

Should be present.

This is what FireFox users see.
The Iframe is a .dtd file . Save it as a .htm and see if it works then.

Firstly, sincerest apologies about not having your accreditation n the right place... I've put it in the 'body' section of the frame where the menu appears, but in my browser it added it as a paragraph of text so I've coloured it the same as the background, since otherwise it shows through the semi-translucent menu...

I've also added a link to the Dynamic Drive wbsite on my links page...

I apologise for not having the accrediaton there - I have no idea why I must have deleted it - sorry!!!

I have opened my index.html file, and gone through re-naming all the frames within it, as *.html files. This still seems to work OK in my IE6 but if anyone can see it's still wrong in Opera or Mozilla, please let me know...

Incidentally, I couldn't find any files named *.dtd... Am I being thick here???

This file:

needs to be renamed to menu.htm or similar.

Checked back a couple of minutes ago and it seems to be working fine now in FireFox and Netscape.

BTW, the links page has a dead link to Dynamic Drive :) You're missing the http:// :p

Many many thanks!

I've done programming before in C+, basic and Visual Basic, so HTML wasn't that daunting, but I am using Dreamweaver to build my pages and it's extremely confusing when you first launch it and 7 windows open...

I think I was a little ahead of myself designing my first site using frames and Dynamic HTML scripts, but once I'd grasped the 'window frame/window=frame/content' idea I was kind of OK...

I would like to reccommend the HV Menu code - excellent! I've had many compliments about how it looks and operates from visitors to my site!

Just got to add the content now!!!

Again - thanks for sorting me out!
