I Need Anti Tracking Software

I Need Anti Tracking Software

I downloaded an anti tracking program that found several problems but it wouldn’t repair the problems until I registered the software. Smart huh!

So the search is on… Do you know of a good anti tracking program that I could download that would actually fix the problems without having to register it?

I’m using Ad-Aware and thankfully it found and fixed some problems but I would be very interested in trying another anti tracking software in case this one missed something.

I could keep searching but it may take hours until I can find one that will actually repair the problems without having to register.

Thanks…

Thank you Twey...

I'll check it out right away and let you know how it turns out. :)

Fantastic… Found several other problems and fixed them!
They have a lot of stuff on that site so it took me some time to find what I was looking for. Once I downloaded it I got the updates and bang - problem solved!

I ended up downloading it at:

Thanks again… :)

I use spywareblaster (http://www.download.com/SpywareBlaster/3000-8022_4-10486084.html?tag=lst-0-1), spybot search and destroy (http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10401314.html?tag=lst-0-1), and crap cleaner (http://ccleaner.com/). All work tremendously well (providing you have the patience for Spybot :) ) and they are all free. Plus they work well together without using a ton of resources.

My computer makes a clicking sound.

Something strange is going on here! I tried everything I could think of but I still haven’t been able to fix this problem. I ran several anti-spyware programs and I checked for viruses and I still can’t fix this problem. It’s as if someone has hijacked our computer.

My browser opened by itself the other day and I also got a popup while I wasn’t even on the computer telling me that I didn’t have permission to access this file.

I had been looking for a .wav file when I came across a site and bang – my browser shut down and a virus warning popped up. I’ve been having problems ever since.

If you know what is going on or better yet, what I should do please help me out.

Thanks…

Sounds like you are the victim of some type of malware/spyware. If you have run, within reason, all of the latest anti-spyware and anti-malware programs you have and/or can find (there are limits to this, there are so many of these programs), you may just have to do a full system reinstall as, there are always new threats, and the removal software cannot always keep up with them in a timely manner. If you have a system restore point available prior to when all this happened, try restoring to it first. You shouldn't have been browsing in IE 6 to begin with, if that's what you were doing (IE 7 may be just as bad but, I have heard that it is supposed to be better). Another good practice to avoid is looking for files that you really shouldn't have anyway. Many sites that claim to distribute these (copyrighted programs and/or media) are actually sites that distribute spyware/malware to unsuspecting surfers.

Thanks guys... I just set our computer to a new restore point and if this doesn't work we'll simply format the whole thing. So far so good! :)
