Computer Hardware

What would be a good site where I could learn about computer hardware and stuff like that? I only know the gritty basics and would like to learn more.

This is quite a useful website to keep upto date with all the latest stuff:

http://www.tomshardware.com/

:)

Thanks, but I was looking more for something like how computers work kind of deal. I'll still check that site in more detail though.

how much detail. I was in a computer building class. do you mean like how to
customize what's in your computer or something like attaching the circuitry

Just about anything, as long as it starts from the beginning. So something that would say X does Y and elaborates on it, Z does W, etc.

A real example would be like what exactly a processor does and so on.

I just want to learn this stuff for background purposes only so far. I don't plan on building/modding a computer anytime soon :D

It seems as though computer architecture is what you're looking for, though I don't know of any references, I'm afraid.

you could try and reverse engineering them look up all the parts you remove on the internet

haha, I doubt that would work, especially if Trinithis has only one computer. ;)

There's an old but good book I picked up recently at a second-hand book sale called "Computing" by Nick Waites and Geoffrey Knott.

I think I'm fine for now, as I had rented up a simple computer science book a while ago, and it explained a decent amount of hardware stuff. Thanks for all the replies.
