this is pretty much a manual system but what i am looking for is a script that allows the user to input his username and password and then he will go right into a directory on my linux site. I of course will open this directory lets called John and the user name is john his pass is 1234 and the folder on the site is john. Now he enters his username and it gets picked up from lets say an excel file that i place on my site. called memberpass. can this be done easily without much work. thanks gary
gary there are a number of ways that this can be done:
1. if you have 1 directory and you don't want them to sign up meaning you have to add them to the list of users and passwords.
Why not just log in to your cpanel normally at http://www.(YOURDOMAIN).com/cpanel please not if your domainname ends with .net or other replace the com with that
There is a password script much like this on DD. Look in the passwords section of the scripts and see if that can work. You could adjust to use the user name instead or something, but password is slightly more secure, or at least feels like it.
