New Posting Features - Make ADVANCED Editor Default for Posting

With necessity comes creation... or something of that nature. Anyway after long research and irritation that I could not get my "Advanced Editor" to default, I created a work around.

VERSION USED: vBulletin 5.1.5

Use at your own risk, this works for me, but I am no programmer or modder. If it doesn't work, undo and move on.

I only used the Default Theme for modifications, this should work for them all, but again, I am not sure. Apply this workaround for any theme needed.

STEPS:

Log in to AdminCP
Click Styles & Templates >> Search in Templates

Search Templates >> Select your style
Search For: "additional.css" (Do not include " ")
Search Titles Only: Yes
Click FIND

Open css_additional.css template

Paste the Code (below) >> Save & Reload

Open New Tab/Window and make sure modification works (before leaving admin just in case)
Done

That's the same method I've been using. It works but not perfectly. Awhile back, Glenn posted a line of javascript on VB.com. The code "clicked" the A button on page load. I meant to implement his hack, but forgot about it :erm: and can't find the post again.:mad:

how about limiting advanced editor? such as removing all font selection options and only leaving default, is that possible?

Would love this for 4.2.. never mind..just need to disable quick reply.

If you need to access this page, ask your lead administrator to enable your permissions for this page using the Administrator Permissions section of the control panel.

Any hints? Yes, I'm logged in as admin.

On Cloud you cannot edit the templates.

However, to add additional css, go to Site Builder > Style > Custom CSS, and paste it there. This actually puts it in the correct place for you.

Because the toggle-button (the A -Button) and the close-button (the round X -Button) is not working anymore if you use that code, you should hide them:

.b-toolbar .js-toolbar-secondary [data-panel="b-content-entry-panel__content--toggle-editor"]{
display:none;
}

display:none;
}
