Is it possible to dial and then call a phone number by means of WML <a> tag?
If so then how to do it?

you can use wtai://(+phone number)
motorola and ericsson devices works propertly but it doesn't work propertly with nokia 7110. If you use this device to browse your wml pages and you want to use the number simply choose from nokia device menu the choice 'use number'.
