Image Swapping WITHOUT Javascript

How do I do it? What codes do I use and where? I want it to work in Internet Explorer 3.0. Is there a way to make this happen?

Thanks

good job brining back probably one of the oldest threads on devshed. this has to be some sort of record.

as for the problem, if you want the image to change without rehitting the server i am afraid that javascript is your only option.

i figured, i might have giving him an ample amount of time to find an answer to his question :-D

Perhaps CSS is the answer? The :hover pseudo-class lets you effectively apply a different background-image to an element when you mouse over it. Unfortunately, if you want it to work in IE, you have to stick to links. But, since this is the most common use for an image-swap, there you go. Tell me if you want an example or anything.

EDIT: And wow! This is an old thread. The original question was concerning IE 3.0? That's pretty dated...

The country hadn't even elected Al Gore as president by popular vote yet when this was written ... in fact it was almost a year later he was even nominated
