PostgreSQL Enterprise Replication Server(RServ 0.1)

Hi,
I was looking into this, PostgreSQL Enterprise Replication Server(RServ 0.1)

Is this still in Beta at this time?

Sarath.

It would seem that version 0.1 means it is still in beta. In fact, it looks like no development has been done on this since December 24, 2000, if you look at the home page: http://www.erserver.com/

If you look on the Replication page at http://techdocs.postgresql.org/ you will see that the only replication tool that is past a version 1 release is http://pgreplicator.sourceforge.net/ , which is at version 1.1.0, I believe. I haven't yet used any of these myself, though.

I don't know about you all, but I am just busting at the seams to get this replication server!!!

It's the #1 listed priority of the developers, so hopefully they are getting close. Seems like the whole thing is being kept under wraps. In June 2001, it looked like they had done all of their evaluations of the existing tools out there, and were ready to make their "final selection." A team in Switzerland (there's that hardcore Germanic engineering for ya again ;) ) had an application called something like "R-Serv", and that was going to be the code the Postgres developers were going to build into their own code.

So hopefully Postgres 8.0 will be the real deal. I believe they can seriously change the landscape of the market with this.

Keep up the good work guys, I am DYING for your new code!!!

Looks like there are many projects going on. Check out the latest news!
