Does anyone know of a community portal development software package similar to Dynaportal but with a cheaper price tag.
Dynaportal retail at £40,000 and can be used to develop a community based site with news, discussion, join our mailing list,
calender etc etc.
I have looked at php-nuke but i need something with extra feature like the e-mail subscription option.:)
PHP-nuke is great! You can add on an email module. There is an addon out there for nuke, for just about everything you can think of. Also check out www.phpportals.com (http://www.phpportals.com) .

How about Drupal or Joomla or just about anything but php-Nuke? Have a look at this site: http://www.opensourcecms.com/
