FIRST POST!!!

Second :-)

Anyways, I'm glad that this forum has been opened, DNS is a complex issue that few resource are available for.

What exactly is there to talk about it? I'm not quite sure I understand it completely. What exactly does it entail?

DNS is not a complex protocol. But due to the nature of hostname resolving, it's essential to configure a working DNS client/resolver/server prior to configure another services like Mail, FTP and WWW.
I have seen many off-topic messages in Apache and other forums because they fit nowhere. Now that it's making sense to post DNS issues in this forum.

Wow.. the last thing I'd like to talk about is DNS.
It's fairly uninteresting.

Actually it can be quite enlightening to chat about the possibilities of multihomed hosts, dyndns, bastion hosts, etc, etc

Maybe we should inlclude routing, NAT and these things in this forum to make it easier for beginners to find the correct place to speak up when having network problems.

No, the protocol itself isn't that bad, but its using it properly that is.

These topics fit well in the BSD/Linux/Mac OS/M$ forums because they are different.

Sounds good to me! :)
