I have redhad 7.2 running with a webserver off of a linksys router. up until yesterday everything worked perfectly. But first let me say I was using a different ISP up until last week and now I had switched.

I never made the dns changes under the network tab in redhat when I changed that is why I think it worked for a while longer. If I put the new dns entries it still does make a difference.

Anyway, I cannot resolve any addresses on the webserver. The most important thing is I cannot sendmail anymore outside my own network.

I am now getting this when I send a message

the only way I gan send mail between my internal boxes is if I add the IP

192.168.1.101 xxxxxxx xxx.xxxxxxxxx.com

in my host file

Let me ask you one simple question. Can you reach any site via IP?

Maybe or maybe not. Keep in mind that some ISPs (maybe 20%) setup ACL to their caching nameserver so only particular net block can query the namserver for DNS resolution. You also need to know what is the difference between caching nameserver and authoritative nameserver.

Give us the IP of your nameserver so we can test it for you.
