I want to start learning Linux but I don't have a spare box. I do have a spare 4gig drive that I'm not using.
Is it possible to put linux on the 4gig drive and then have some sort of dual boot program that will boot to the win98 drive or the linux drive?
I'm a total newbie here, and help would be appreciated. Thanks!

That's actually a common practice. Some linux distribution contain a seperate program for it, which you can issue during the installation. It will do most of the work for you. You just specify the amount of data to seperate from Windows. There are also programs for that.
Mandrake distribution is one of the best in this area and suits beginners well. That's what I will be using when get it done.
Actually all popular distributions have an installation GUI and good documentation on installation and dual-boot.
One with that such things definitely work is SuSE. It includes a Quick Start manual with detailed "now klick here" instructions.
These options are great, I think I may just get a little cheap computer, that way I know everything is purely linux. I realized after I posted that I code with cold fusion on the computer that I would want to run apache in Linux on... so I can't exactly save a file, then flip to my browser to test it. :) :(
Anyway, there are many brands of linux, I was thinking Redhat, 7.x all I'm going to be doign is learning linux (The basics) and setting apache, PHP and MySQL up on there to make as close of a copy of my production server as possible.
