Problems w/ Red Hat 7.2

Hey what's up. i am installing Red hat Linux 7.2 on one of the machines at work. It is going to be an server hosting internal sites. Now I am having a problem getting a connection using DHCP. Is there something I might be missing?

Also will Red Hat be able to browse shared directories on our Windows 2000 Advanced Server box?

Any help would be great. Thanks.

Given that DHCP usually means that your box will have a dynamic IP, you may want to think about how to give your RedHat box a static one.

It's much easier to configure a client-server setup when the server has a static IP.

How you give your RH box a static IP depends on your network topology, so I can't really give you a generic answer.

You should be able to see shared directories on your Windows server, look into Samba, which allows linux boxen to communicate with windows servers and vice-versa.
