FreeBSD and UNIX?

I am trying to decide whether to run FreeBSD or UNIX. It seems that FreeBSD is easier and a lot better as a server OS. I am more familiar with UNIX though. Does FreeBSD use some of the same commands as UNIX does?

Don't you know that FreeBSD is a Unix? Aren't you talking about Linux instead Unix?

Didn't you see this guy asked the same question over and over again all over the places?

Well, I just now noticed when you told me.. Hehe.. I only visit and read in Apache and *BSDs sections in here. The rest, I ignore because they aren't my interesting. :)

Maybe this guy doesn't know a lot about this stuff and use Devshed.com as a helping tool. Have you ever thaught that maybe when you talk in "$#^$&%(" that I cannot always interpret these things?

Next time, just answer the question in terms where anyone can figure it out or just don't help at all. I am sure you will follow up with this with a reply.

I am sure you would have to wait FOREVER to get reply.

If you don't understand answer its YOUR fault not of 'guy'.

You know what? pabloj already replied to your question -> Does FreeBSD use some of the same commands as UNIX does? at -> http://forums.devshed.com/showthread.php?threadid=26980&forumid=31

And you said you are very familiar with UNIX. So why asked such stupid question repeatedly in the first place?

I don't have a problem when people are asking stupid questions. But your problem is, it's not necessary to ask the same question over and over again.

mizzory. I must agreed with freebsd because I don't think you know anything about Unix. If you want to learn more, do the explorer by yourself such as use the search engine at google.com. Also, be sure to read a lot of docs about them. Also, go to www.bsdvault.net , they got nice tutorials and links where you can learn about *BSDs.

Mezz,

That wasn't that hard to say. Freebsd doesn't give me a url for a place to research. You did, thank you.

Freebsd,

What does it matter if I know nothing or a lot about UNIX? I am asking if freeBSD is like UNIX not if a certain command works. I am familiar with UNIX, on the programming of web pages and scripts, not making a web server on it. I did not know FreeBSD is based on UNIX, for all I know it is like Windows and UNIX, totally different. I am trying to explore new things. That last post I made that you put a link to, I was asking a very stupid question as to where I could find FreeBSD. So what relevence does that have with if commands are the same? With Mezz's first reply to my question, I gathered that FreeBSD is UNIX. So what motivated you to reply when Mezz already put effort into answering my question.

mizzory,

It's because someone already answer this question in your different thread that you posted. Why didn't you ever bother go to www.freebsd.org ? It explains very clearly that FreeBSD is a Unix and other stuffs as well in the front page; it's right there. Also, you can download FreeBSD from www.freebsd.org . You are just being VERY lazy.

If you don't know what thread that I am talking about, then take a look at this link that freebsd gave above.

Regards,
Mezz
