Wireless Network Setup on XP

I have setup a wireless network on XP. I have 1 laptop that is wireless to router. I have one desktop hardwired to router. I am able to get to Internet from laptop fine.

My problem is ability to print to printer located/attached on the desktop. When I try to install the printer on the laptop, it does not see the printer as an available printer. I have set the printer to "shared" on desktop.

not sure if this is what you are asking for, but the printers software has to be installed on both machines, and you have toset the printer as default, and shared on the computer it is actuall hooked to, on the client, it may have to be searched for the first time you use it.

When I am trying to install the printer as a network printer on the wireless laptop, it does not even see the printer on the network so I cannot continue with the installation.

I think the problem is within the network and ability to see each other on the network.

try that link, may even want to link through it a bit more the page i posted is for networking printers, but the links have about every situation. as i have said many times, i hate to explain networks.

You don't mention if the laptop sees the desktop system. The internet access isn't dependent on the laptop seeing the rest of the LAN....
