networking problem

I have two windows xp home edition machines( friggin hate windows, but I have to use it). Machine one has a dsl connection. Machine two connects (should) to the internet through maching one. I trying to share the connection between the two. I had it working before with two computers -- one of them was window xp pro -- I don't know if that makes any difference. I got a new maching (xp home edition), and now the share connection isn't working. The two machines can ping each other. Machine one can access the net (this is how I posting this message). The internet connection is shared ( on the properties). Machine one has no firewall. It has the local address 192.168.0.1 -- Machine's two address is 192.168.0.2 This should be working. What the hell is going on?

Did you configure the computers manually or did you run Microsoft's network setup wizard?

I have found that trying to configure XP Home machines manually is a futile effort.

Throw a floppy disk in, run the network setup wizard, and then execute the built floppy on the other machine.

I will try that

The machine with the internet connection doesn't have a floppy(a new dell). The both can ping each other. No firewall.... Argh! still not working

finally!
I just had to put the path of the gateway into the preffered dns entry. I done this before and (i dont think) I had to to do this. Anyways, hope someone having this same problem could find this usefull.
