problem with dns/connection

i have three webservers connected to a netgear router. the router is connected to a fraction T1 line. everyday i get disconnected from the internet. to get back online i have to manually power down the router and power it back up.. any ideas why i am getting disconnect from the internet. is it the router?(it it a brand new router tho) same thing happened to my old router. any help is greatly appreciated.

thanks,

I would talk to the company that provides you with the fractional T1 and see if there's anything odd on their end. I had a problem with my SMC router doing something similar and updating the firmware solved the problem.

I have to agree with damon. If your firmware is up to date and you have suffered with two successive routers, then it's definitely time to have a word with your providers. They are also likely to be aware of any known issues with your netgear kit (although netgear are usually np afaik).

I had a similar problem once - T1, webserver, and a business network. Same physical network, but different routable ip's. Every so often the business network would lose all connectivity to the webserver (email, etc.). The rest of the internet was still available.

The problem was with the ip addresses and what they were mapped to inside the router. It was causing some type of router confusion. Some suggestions were ARP storms, bad routing tables, etc. Never did get that one solved.
