I want to connect two PC's in my home. Can anybody tell me what is the minimal configuration i need to connect those two pc's, so that i can share the data among them?????

For ethernet-Two Nics and a crossover cable.
Direct cable connection and a serial cable.
You can also use laplink cable and connect via the parallel port :)
